Shan Mountain Tea
Tea sourced from the highlands near Kyaukme in Northern Shan (Myanmar), with seasonal lots—especially early spring sprouts—known for their aroma and clarity.
Origin: Kyaukme, Northern Shan
Northern Shan is a highland region with cooler temperatures and steep valleys—conditions that can support interesting, seasonal tea character. This project focuses on direct sourcing and transparent lot-by-lot documentation.
We’re starting with small shipments to validate quality, consistency, and logistics—then scaling only if the process remains reliable.
Photo notes
The images on this page show the surrounding area and transport context. Some field photos may depict local agriculture and are not necessarily tea plants. As we collect more media, we’ll add clear photos of tea plants, dried leaf, and brewed liquor for each lot.
If you’re evaluating this as a buyer, the most useful next photos are: (1) tea leaves on the bush, (2) dried finished leaves close-up, (3) brewed cup.
Harvest & lots
The most sought-after lots are often the early spring sprouts (commonly April)—picked when new growth is tender and aromatic.
We’ll label each shipment by lot (harvest window + processing date) so you can buy and compare consistently over time.
Processing approach
Tea is grown on the farm and processed with partner facilities for consistent rolling/drying and moisture stability.
This is common for small farms: growing and picking are local, while certain processing steps may use shared or centralized equipment. What matters most is freshness-to-processing time and stable drying.
Shipping (simple & predictable)
For early shipments, we route through Bangkok and ship by DHL / FedEx for reliability, tracking, and clear pricing.
Typical door-to-door delivery is usually within 1–2 weeks depending on service level and customs processing.
Pricing philosophy
We provide an all-in quote before shipping: tea cost + international shipping + estimated import/handling fees.
For small test quantities, shipping can be a meaningful portion of total cost. As shipment weight increases, cost per pound usually decreases.
